The Gaston County Economic Development Commission is pleased to announce that Otto Nussbaum GmbH & CO will purchase an existing building in the Delta Business Park. This facility is located at 1932 Jordache Court and is 56,565 square feet in size. It will house the North American headquarters, production and technical services center for Nussbaum Automotive Solutions L.P. The investment will be around $7.6 Million and 83 new jobs are expected to be created by this firm. Nussbaum Automotive Solutions L.P. expects to begin operations by first quarter of 2013.
Nussbaum is the largest German manufacturer of automotive lifts and testing equipment. Established in 1943 originally as a component supplier to the German heavy duty equipment industry and has since evolved into an extensive global enterprise focusing on vertical manufacturing including engineering, design, manufacturing, sales and service as a key element of their successful strategy. Currently, Nussbaum has 8 manufacturing locations across Germany and 3 subsidiaries throughout Europe. Nussbaum products have been present in the US market since 1984 and there are over 20.000 Nussbaum automotive service lifts installed all over North America.
“The opening of our new NUSSBAUM facility offices is a major step towards providing local service and support for our United States and North American customers,” said NUSSBAUM’s President Steffen Nussbaum. “It is also a very significant milestone towards transforming NUSSBAUM from a primarily European company to a true multinational enterprise. This new location will enable us to support our growing list of North American customers with the latest automotive service technology.”

Nussbaum Automotive Solutions L.P. plans to utilize the North Carolina’s Division of Employment Services (NCDES) and Express Employment Professionals for new hires. The company also will utilize the Gaston County Workforce Development Board for a portion of the worker training which is to occur at the plant.
